Vitraz Window & Door Builder
Design your window, then send it to us
Configure any system we supply, turn it around in 3D to check how it looks and opens, and send the finished specification straight to our team. Nothing here commits you to anything — build as many versions as you like.
The two halves of the screen
Everything sits on one page. The left side shows your product; the right side is where you make choices. Change anything on the right and the model updates immediately.
The view
Drag to rotate, scroll to zoom, and click a sash to open it. The readout at the top left always shows your current size, glazed area and system.
The panel
Numbered steps, top to bottom. Below them sit the published specification, a summary of your configuration, and the quote button.
The steps
Work down the panel in order. Later steps adapt to earlier ones — choose a pergola and the handle step disappears because it does not apply, while a side blinds step appears, which no other product has.
1 · Choose a system. Nine Aluprof systems, grouped into windows and doors, dedicated door systems, and pergolas and wall systems. Each carries a short description of what it is for — MB-79N is our standard thermally insulated window and door system, MB-104 Passive is the deepest and best insulated, MB-59HS is the lift-slide door, MB-OpenSky 140 is the louvered pergola. Switching system keeps your choices wherever they still apply.
2 · Choose how it opens. Only the configurations that system actually supports are offered.
| Fixed / picture | No opening sash. Maximum glass area and the best thermal figure. |
|---|---|
| Casement | A single hinged sash that swings open. |
| Tilt & turn | Tilts at the head for secure ventilation, or turns fully open on the side hinge. |
| Twin sash | Two leaves hinged on the outer edges, opening from a central mullion. Each operates independently. |
| Entrance door | A hinged entrance leaf with a pull handle. |
| Pivot door | Rotates on an off-centre vertical axis rather than a side hinge. |
| Lift-slide | Two or three panels on staggered rails. The first panel is fixed; the rest slide. |
| Curtain wall grid | A mullion and transom grid with glazed infill panels. |
| Louvered pergola | Rotating roof blades, adjustable through the full published range. |
3 · Set the size. Drag the width and height sliders. Both move in half-inch steps, from 20 in up to 275½ in wide and 141½ in tall. The model rebuilds as you drag. Hinged configurations add a Hinge left / Hinge right choice — the hinge appears on the side you pick, as you see it on screen, and the handle goes on the opposite stile. The view opens from inside the room, and the summary records the hinge side with that elevation named, so the specification stays unambiguous away from the 3D view. A curtain wall adds controls for the number of columns and rows and the mullion depth; a pergola adds its projection. Underneath the sliders, a note tells you whether your size sits inside the published maximum.
4 · Interior finish. Eight standard architectural finishes. This is the colour seen from the room, and it is the face the builder shows you first.
5 · Exterior finish. The same eight finishes, chosen separately. The frames are built in two halves, so the street side can be a different colour from the room side — anthracite outside with white inside is a common choice. Rotate to the Outside view to see it.
6 · Glazing. Pick double or triple glazing, then a glass type: clear, low-E coated, or privacy glass. Both choices show in the 3D view — triple glazing adds a visible third pane, and each glass type carries its own colour and level of transparency.
7 · Handle. Brushed stainless, matt black, or white — a handle is normally specified to match the frame. Windows get a lever; entrance doors get a full-height pull bar; a lift-slide gets its long throw lever, whose length is the leverage that raises the leaf off its seals. This step is hidden for curtain walls and pergolas.
8 · Side blinds. Pergolas only, and one of Aluprof’s own options for the system. The louvres deal with sun from overhead; a low morning or evening sun comes in sideways, under the roof, and these close off that face. They drop on all four sides, halfway or all the way — use the toolbar or click a blind in the view. Choose a mesh screen, which cuts the sun while you can still see out, or a block-out fabric, which trades the view for full shade and privacy.
The lever turns with the sash, to the position the real hardware would be in: down shut, horizontal on the turn, and up on the tilt. Going from tilt to turn it drops back through down, because on a tilt & turn both positions share one spindle. A lift-slide reads the other way round — up when the door is shut and locked down onto its seals, down once it is lifted and free to run.
Opening it up
The model is not a picture — every opening part works.
- Click any sash to operate it. Each click moves to the next position that leaf supports. A tilt & turn cycles closed, tilt, turn, closed; a casement simply opens and shuts. On a twin sash or a multi-panel slider, each leaf keeps its own position.
- Drag anywhere to orbit. A drag never opens a sash by accident — only a clean click does.
- Scroll to zoom in and out.
- The toolbar along the bottom sets every leaf at once — Closed, Tilt, Turn, Slide, Louvres or the blinds, depending on what your product can do. Buttons that do not apply are hidden rather than greyed out. A pergola has two independent systems, so running the blinds down leaves the louvres where you set them.
- Outside, Angle and Inside jump the camera to a fixed viewpoint. Use Outside to judge the street elevation and Inside to check the room-side finish and which way the sash swings.
The blue bar at the top left confirms what just happened, so you always know which leaf moved and where it is.
Reading the size check
Aluprof publishes a maximum size for each opening leaf, and the builder checks your configuration against it every time you move a slider. You will see one of two notes.
These limits are per leaf, not per opening. A three-panel sliding door six metres wide is three two-metre leaves, and passes comfortably. Where a configuration has more than one leaf, the note tells you the individual leaf width it measured.
A red note is not a dead end — it means this particular system cannot do it in a single leaf. Send the configuration anyway and we will propose a way to build it.
The specification table
Below the steps sits the published technical data for whichever system you have selected: frame and sash depths, glazing range, air and water tightness classes, thermal performance, wind load and burglary resistance.
These are Aluprof’s own published figures, not estimates. Every system links to its source datasheet so you can check any number yourself, and where a figure is inferred rather than printed it carries a small badge. Where Aluprof’s own sources disagree, both figures are shown with a note rather than one being quietly chosen for you.
One thing to keep in mind
Thermal figures such as Uw 0.64 are quoted for a specific test size and glass unit, which the footnotes state. Your actual figure depends on the size and glazing you choose, so treat the published number as the system’s best case rather than a quotation for your window.
Sending it to us
Request a quote opens a short form: your name, phone, email, and the project address or postcode, plus a free-text box for quantities and anything else we should know — “six of this configuration for the rear elevation” is exactly the sort of thing to put there.
Underneath, you will see the specification that travels with your enquiry. It lists your configuration line by line and appends the full published system data, so nothing gets lost in translation. You do not need to write any of it out.
- Send to Vitraz sends it straight to us and emails you a copy, so nothing depends on having a mail app set up.
- Copy specification puts the same text on your clipboard, for pasting into your own documents or forwarding to an architect or builder.
A name and email address are required so we can reply; the other fields help us quote accurately but are up to you. A short Cloudflare check runs before sending, which keeps the form free of spam.
Saving and sharing a design
The web address updates as you build. Once your configuration looks right, bookmark the page or copy the address from your browser — opening that link later brings the whole thing back exactly as you left it, and sending it to someone else shows them the same design. Start again, at the very bottom of the panel, clears everything back to the default window.
Before you order
Two things the screen cannot settle for you.
Colour
The finishes shown are screen approximations of RAL references, and no monitor renders a powder-coated finish accurately. Ask us for physical RAL samples before committing to a colour.
Sizes
The dimensions you set here describe the product, not the hole in your wall. Final sizes are confirmed against a site survey before anything is manufactured.
Technical data throughout is published by Aluprof and reproduced with its source noted. Configurations and sizes are indicative until confirmed by survey and written quotation.
